A short story in giant format inspired by art history and old newspaper strips like Little Nemo in Slumberland.
Trost
by Rui Tenreiro, 16X22 cm, 48 pages.
The first book by Rui Tenreiro. Here he describes the experience of coming to Norway as an illustrator, and the book contains almost no dialogue. The story is not strictly autobiographical, but could be read as a general description of being an outsider. But the story also has a lot of hope. The art work is brilliant and leans a lot into standard illustration. The book is also published in French.
Høytiden
by Rui Tenreiro, 21X25 cm, 108 pages.
«Høytiden» is set in medieval times in a fantasy landscape that could be in Japan. We follow the two nameless main characters into a world of mystical villages and strange creatures. Rui Tenreiro uses a visual style inspired by Japanese illustration and design, but is also inspired by European story tellers like Moebius and Hugo Pratt. The book comes with an enclosed translation sheet from Norwegian to English. The book is also published in French.
