We will be going to the Angouleme festival this week end. We will be sharing table with our friends in No Comprendo Press at the Nouveau Monde pavilion. For the festival we have made a French language anthology, Blekk – bande dessinée norvégienne, together with the Norwegian Embassy in Paris. Among others you will find contributions by Tor Ærlig, Andrew Page, Lene Ask, Rui Tenreiro, Jason, Martin Ernstsen and Bendik Kaltenborn.

Martin Erntsen’s new book leads the reader in to a universe filled by strange characters and dreamlike landscapes. The story of the messenger, Kodok, is told in an untraditional and dynamic way, and is visually the most fulfilled graphical work from Martin Ernstsen so far. Issue number four of Angst is out. This brand new collection of the best Norwegian comics includes work from among others Jason, Rui Tenreiro, Bendik Kaltenborn, Lars Fiske, Tor Ærlig, Andrew Page , Flu Hartberg, Kristian Hammerstad and Tuva Synnevåg.

Jordelangs med Kolbein is the new collection with wordless stories about the frog Kolbein from Odd Henning Skyllingstad. Kolbein holds a unique position in Norwegian comics telling views on the important trivialities of life from a human-amphibian perspective. Order it from the Jippi Shop.

Max Estes new book Den krokete kanalen (The crooked canal) is out. The book follows the ideas and themes from The crooked knife and is a full color wordless story where Estes again impresses with great drawings and colors. This time the story is set in Amsterdam. Order it from our shop.

The new book from Rui Tenreiro is out. It is called Museum and is a beautiful short story in giant format inspired by art history and old newspaper strips like Little Nemo in Slumberland. The book is in English and can be ordered from our shop.

Max Estes is out with his new book Den krokete kniv (The crooked knife). The book is a full color wordless story where Estes plays around with classic gangster stories and clichés in his impressive drawing style. Order it from our shop.

Rui Tenreiro’s book The Celebration witch made The Comics Journal top list for 2008 is now available in French. More information can be found on the homepage to the publisher La Pastèque.
